Many prayer groups exist at Notre Dame de France .  Adoration, Prayer for Peace, The Taize prayer group are groups that meet in English at Notre Dame de France.

ADORATION

Every Thursday there is the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament after the evening mass at 6.00 pm.

Prayer starts at about 6.30 pm and lasts until 7.00 pm

The Church believes that Christ's whole life is present in the Blessed Sacrament.

According to the Catholic Church doctrine the presence of Christ under the form of bread and wine does last beyond the end of the liturgy.

This tradition of  keeping a consecrated host for adoration goes back to the very early times of the Church.

PRAYER FOR PEACE

Men, women and children of goodwill have decided to spend some moments to pray for peace in the world or just cast a thought about it. This takes place everyday at midday: they stop and pray for a few minutes. A small group at Notre Dame de France have decided to take part in this chain of prayer, and would like to ask you
( readers of this site ) to do the same. If you so wish, you could make use of the following prayer :

Lead me from death to life,

From falsehood to truth;

Lead me from despair to hope,

From fear to trust ;

Lead me from hate to love,

From war to peace ;

Let peace fill our heart, our world, our universe.

A good article to read which focuses on the relationship between sin and war and the use of our "talents" :

THE TAIZE PRAYER GROUP

The Taizé Style Prayer Group at Notre Dame de France Church, London, was created in 1993 by Fr Paul Walsh. We are an international ecumenical group in the heart of London that comes together each week to create a space where people can enter into prayer. Taizé chants provide us with an environment that assists reflection and meditation.

This style of praying originates from the village of Taizé in France, where a community of brothers live, work and pray together.

On the first Saturday of the month, we meet to celebrate a Roman Catholic Mass incorporating chants from Taizé.

Whether you are new to London, just passing through or planning to be around for a while, you are very welcome to join us. Simply turn up any Saturday evening. If you would like to contribute to the group in any way please let us know.
