St Columban's festival at the end of June in Luxeuil Abbey in Haute Saône in France is a very interesting reminder of the links between Ireland and France and other European countries in the 6th century AD. St Columban and his friends left a legacy which is still an agent of unity in Europe today. To know more : http://www.amisaintcolomban.net (St Columban is not to be mixed up with St Columba who ministered in Scotland at roughly the same time).
